Focus Group Test: Game Over

Without breaking the NDA I just want to say I had a blast playing the test. It seemed that most of the regular visitors of the official site/board and TERA Source had received an invite.

Thanks for the party's and pvp!

First big official site update

The official site has been updated a few minutes ago.
Info about the Baraka and High elf race has been revealed:

A peaceful and noble race, the Baraka are descendents of the Giants. And from their mighty ancestors they have inherited huge physiques and highly sophisticated intellects. Contrary to the Giants, who were cruel and self-righteous, the Baraka are quite the opposite. Calm and tranquil, they yearn only for knowledge.

A thousand years ago, the Elves were at the pinnacle of their civilization. However, during the War of the Gods, the Elves’ source of power, the Stone of Eternity, was destroyed. Those who survived this disaster discarded their old traditions, denouncing the Gods and burning old alliances. Renaming themselves as the High Elves, they pushed themselves to their physical and mental limits to rebuild their once glorious civilization.

Also more info about the Sorcerer and Priest class is now available:

The sorcerers dedicate their lives to research and discovering ways to harness the mysterious forces of the world. They are able to call forth powerful spells using mystical disks to deal damage to their enemies, or to protect and heal their allies. Because of their highly supportive role in battle, it is said that the side with the most capable sorcerer wins the engagement.

The priests, devout worshippers of Yurian, the God of Justice, are able to heal and protect their allies in battle. Priests rely solely on Yurian and their blessed power, rather than heavy armor and weaponry. Their unshakeable faith however, can become a downfall for they rely only on their God and power.

Yesterday some interesting questions were answered on the official forum by the TERA team:

Many of our users wanted to know if TERA...
...will be a PvP or PvE game?

• There are MMOs that are stronger in PvP and others that are stronger in PvE. The TERA dev team understands that both are equally important and that is why TERA has been created envisioning both. The dev team is working hard to marry the benefits of the two in this next generation MMO.

...will support solo/small group play?
• The dev team is trying to make TERA cater to different types of players' needs. In short, you can level up solo or with a small group. However, it will be more exciting if you play TERA with the whole mass.

...will be based on quests or grinds?
• Leveling up in TERA will be guided by quests. However, the dev team is envisioning the leveling up experience in TERA to be much more engaging than in previous generations of MMOs. How? Because of the immersive, real-time action gameplay in TERA, which will draw in your key senses and reflexes to play the game.

...will have instances or an open world?
• The team is focusing on providing a whole new MMORPG experience and to satisfy every one of you. The team fully understands the requirements of a triple A MMORPG title and therefore, YES, TERA will provide a persistent world (seamless). To avoid any misunderstandings, TERA will also offer instances for those who prefer instanced dungeons. Hopefully, this hybrid world (instances + seamless) will adhere to all the needs of a variety of players.

Of course our pages have been updated with this new information.
